Payroll Upgrade Goes Swimmingly: Christina America Implements TimeZone by ITR
Swimwear manufacturer makes much-needed change to automated system, sees improvements in costs, efficiencies

It was definitely time for Christina America to upgrade its Datatrac payroll system. Not only had the Montreal-based swimwear manufacturer been advised the workforce management software would no longer be supported as of September 2009, but it wasn't really working anyway.
The American Payroll Association spotlights ITR's latest release of its TimeZoneTMworkforce management system, offering TimeZoneTM Professional, an employee portal offering online Timesheets, WebPunch PC time entry, internal messaging and other employee self-service functionality.
ITR account manager Amin Samji appeared on BT to discuss and demonstrate one of ITR's biometric data collection devices, the HandPunch hand geometry terminal.

Technology for Small Business Special Report: Like many workers who are paid hourly, employees at Dynamic Team Sports Canada Co. in Toronto used to punch time clocks. The sportswear company's human resources staff had to prepare time cards for more than 200 employees, calculate hours manually and enter the data in a payroll system. It took four to six hours a week, says Melanie Oleskiw, Dynamic's human resources manager. And there were problems with a few employees on the midnight shift "buddy punching" - punching absent co-workers' time cards to inflate their hours worked.
