In certain environments, such as a largely salaried company, entering employee time at a clock may be impractical, and in manufacturing environments, waiting in line to punch-in at a clock or walking across the shop floor to change department or job codes means lost time and lower productivity. So as an alternative to traditional data collectors, TimeZone™’s WebPunch provides the ability to clock in and out right on a PC!
TimeZone™ Professional’s WebPunch application minimizes the cost of deploying and maintaining traditional data collection devices by eliminating hardware installation and services. With their unique ID and password, employees simply log onto the TimeZone™ WebPunch screen on their own PC or a shared PC, such as at a kiosk or central workstation. There they can sign in or out for the day, or begin or end their breaks. In addition, transfers from one job or department to another are simple to perform: once logged in, the employee chooses the type of punch from the drop-down menu, and if applicable, chooses the department or job from a list of pre-entered authorized codes.
